In gratitude, Trish’s Tuesday Tag

Still playing in my “unplanner” with the lovelies at documented life project/art to the fifth. This is my PAC, mine is a tag, for the third week in February. The theme was gratitude. I am so grateful for so many everything’s. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! And I love my tag!

Check out the lovely layers of mixed media: acrylic paint, ink, modeling paste, stickers, water colors, collage ephemera.

Hats off to St. Patrick’s Day!

Hats off to St. Patrick’s Day!

So it’s not too late for a little leprechaun fun… In about 10 minutes you can take a basic black party hat from party city or the likes, add some moss and St. Patrick’s Day embellishments and have a really cool leprechaun hat. You could wear this hat on St. Patrick’s Day or use it as a home decor. Slainte!

Trish’s Restrained Tuesday Tag

Trish’s Restrained Tuesday Tag

Show a little restraint, will you? I did in February. It was my word for the month. It’s a good word to keep top of mind for someone like me…someone who needs to  keep her cards a little closer to her chest.

I created the tag as part of the art to the 5th, Documented Life Unplanner 2016 project. Week 2 of February’s challenge was create with variations of one color.  What a perfect challenge for showing some restraint.

I used a black tag. Sprayed Dylusions White Lined spray over a stencil at bottom right and top left of tag. Spray is awesome but provides very little control. Be prepared to surrender perfection. Loved the shades of white on the black tag. Splattered some ink randomly on the tag.  Printed “restraint” on white copy paper. Layered a titch of white polka dot paper and almost called it done. But it seemed a little too restrained. Added a silver flower from a bracelet and some sheer white ribbon.  The icing on the cake really turned out to be the large tag I adhered it to, another shade of white ribbon and some white uniball pen doodles; I was struggling with how to store the tag in my book without putting holes in the actual tag when I decided adhering it to another tag created the same way was the perfect layered piece.

Trish’s Tuesday Tag: Right Now

“Do what you can with what you have right where you are.” Don’t know who said this or why, but it is a great reminder to me right now…In my professional life I am part of a company turnaround, most days it feels pretty impossible but I do what I can. I need to feel good about that so I made a tag. Love the colors–fuchsia, teal, turquoise and dusty blue. Love the texture. A little acrylic paint added in layers with stamps and stencils. Then a dusty blue flower and a reminder quote. Perfection. Did what I could, with what I had…and the results were mahvelous daaaarling.

Tag it Tuesday: You Can’t Fix Crazy

It’s true…you can’t fix crazy. Sometimes, it’s your crazy that can’t be fixed…most of the time it’s someone else’s crazy that can’t be fixed.

It’s a little manila tag layered with acrylic paint, ink, a stitched frame stamp. The butterfly is glittered with Tim Holts’ delicious picked raspberry and purple glitter.
